Coordination and Contact

The Project Management Agency at the German Aerospace Center (PT DLR) performs technical and administrative tasks on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for the Ministry's Social-ecological Research funding programme. Its Coordination Office assists public relations activities aimed at making the findings from the Social-ecological Research funding programme more widely known and fostering their translation into practice.

Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has provided funding for Social-ecological research since 2001. This funding is organised on the basis of the Social-ecological Research (SÖF) framework concept and is an essential part of the Ministry's Research for Sustainability (FoNa) programme.

 

Project Management Agency (PT DLR)

Working closely with the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Project Management Agency at the German Aerospace Center (PT DLR) is in charge of technical and administrative tasks arising in connection with Social-ecological research. Its activities include drafting calls for proposals, organising the assessment of incoming applications, conducting seminars, expert meetings, workshops and overseeing project finances. The PT DLR is strongly involved in the progressive development of the Social-ecological Research funding programme. The PT DLR also supports and assists the Social-ecological Research Strategy Committee and implements its recommendations (such as conducting a programme evaluation).

Science and Society Coordination Office

The Science and Society Coordination Office supports public relations activities designed to communicate social-ecological research findings not only to the scientific community but also to the broad public at both national and international level. This work includes organising cross-project events (conferences, congresses and workshops), developing media contacts, producing printed publications (brochures, leaflets, etc.) and maintaining this homepage.
