Overweight and Obesity in Childhood, Youth and Young Adulthood as a Systemic Risk

In this project, overweight and obesity are seen as a systemic, behaviour-induced risk. The aims are to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the problem and to develop effective options for prevention. Therefore, it seems necessary to examine the inter¬actions between individual, social and ecological factors by a theoretical and empirical modelling of this behaviour-induced risk. The existing knowledge will be comple¬ted by focus groups, interviews and physiological analysis.
